Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a Full Time Day shift (6:30am - 3pm). A $1500 signing bonus is available for eligible candidates. Requires a High School Diploma or GED and CRCST certification within 18 months, or eligibility for grandfathering.

Training is provided to obtain certification if not already certified. Responsibilities include cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
CRCST certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire or meet state grandfathering guidelines.
If not already certified, training is provided to obtain the required certification.

Responsibilities

Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, store, and distribute reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure sterility and proper function.
Collect used equipment and prepare for sorting and decontamination.
Manually clean contaminants and operate decontamination equipment.
Prepare decontaminated supplies for sterilization and monitor sterilization processes.
Maintain records of sterilization procedures and inventory control.
