Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a qualified Sterile Processing Technician to join the Mercy Sterile Processing Services team at 37719 Carolinas Medical Center. The candidate will work 2:30pm-11pm or 10:30pm-7am with a 40-hour work week and on-call weekend/holiday rotation.

The role requires CSPDT or CRCST certification and a high school diploma. Responsibilities include safety adherence, malfunction reporting, sterilization testing, HLD processing, and proper handling of general and specialty

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CSPDT or CRCST certification required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards.
• Identifies, responds & reports malfunctions and/or alarms.
• Performs efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment.
• Identifies manual and/or mechanical cleaning per manufacturer IFU for general, laparoscopic, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, power instrumentation.
• Performs flexible scope processing utilizing High Level Disinfection (HLD).
• Determines, prepares, and uses supplies required in the assembly process.
• Inspects and assembles general & specialty instruments for cleanliness and functionality.
• Packages and labels instrumentation following standards.
• Safely determines sterilization equipment functionality, operation, monitoring, and maintenance with verification and documentation of sterilization process.
• Performs high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma, ethylene oxide, liquid chemical) sterilization.
