Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for operations. You’ll support safe, high-quality care by maintaining rigorous safety and record-keeping standards in a fast-paced environment.

Join a team that collaborates with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs, organize trays, and uphold exceptional patient care. Certification within 18 months and BLS within 60 days are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year Central Sterile Supply experience preferred
• Sterile Processing Certification required (CRCST or CSPDT) within 18 months of employment
• Knowledge of hospital equipment, supplies, surgical instrumentation, and medical terminology
• Able to react to emergency supply requests
• BLS current or within 60 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support surgeries
