Job summary

Summit is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the surgical team and ensure a safe and efficient operating room environment. You will sterilize instruments, prepare supplies, and hand tools to the team, while assisting in patient transport as needed.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, adherence to aseptic techniques, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Strong teamwork and communication are essential, and BLS certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a surgical technologist or OR assistant preferred.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to adhere to hospital policies and protocols.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring equipment and supplies are ready.
• Assist in positioning patients for surgery and provide physical and emotional support.
• Sterilize and prepare surgical instruments and equipment.
• Hand instruments to the surgical team during procedures while maintaining a sterile field.
• Assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room.
• Maintain a clean and organized operating room environment.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient flow of the surgical process.
