Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an experienced Sterilization Technician to join our perioperative services. You will perform decontamination, assembly and sterilization of instruments, ensuring all items are safe for patient use and compliant with QA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience with decontamination and sterilization per QA guidelines.
• Ability to operate steam, ETO, and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers.
• Strong communication and teamwork to support OR staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, assembly, and sterilization per QA guidelines.
• Operate steam, ETO, and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers.
• Use equipment safely and follow competency reviews.
• Access information via computer and communicate with team.
• Report broken instruments to supervisor.
• Maintain instrument tracking via PDA and computers.
• Answer phones and assist customers professionally.
