Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. You will clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute instrumentation, supporting patient safety and quality care.

Orientation includes a 90-day period with an SPD 101 class and a preceptor. Full-time day shift, 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday with every third weekend. Sign-on bonus up to $5,000.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• CBSPD CSPM certification or IAHCSMM certification in Central Services preferred if within 1 year 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, sterilize, and distribute medical/surgical instrumentation.
• Maintain processing cycle: Decontam > Inspect > Assemble > Package > Sterilize > Inspect > Store > Inspect > Dispense.
• Keep records for traceability across functions and ensure patient safety is central.
• Transport case carts to OR and prepare sterile instruments as per surgery schedules.
