Job summary

McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech II to prepare and distribute supplies for patient care and operating rooms. The role includes managing PAR-based inventories and ensuring instruments are decontaminated, repackaged, sterilized, and returned as needed.

Candidates should have CRCST certification (IAHCSM) or be able to obtain it within 9 months, with six months in healthcare sterile processing preferred.

Job Summary:

• The Sterile Processing Technician II prepares and distributes supplies and equipment ready for use in all patient care areas, as well as for the Operating Rooms.
• Based on pre-determined inventory (PAR) levels, and surgical cases, these technicians count and replenish processed supplies for each location.
• Reusable instruments and items are collected, decontaminated, repackaged, sterilized and returned to storage or the next point of use.
• Patient care equipment is collected, cleaned and stored between patient applications.
• Responsible for tracking some rental equipment.
• Once oriented the SP Tech II will also assist in training newly hired technicians.

Qualifications:

• Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) through IAHCSM or other recognized or accredited program or ability to obtain certification within 9 months.
• Six months experience in Healthcare Sterile Processing strongly preferred.
