Job summary

Ascension Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking a full-time Sterile Processing Technician for the evening shift. You will operate sterilization equipment, decontaminate instruments, assemble instrument sets, and maintain inventory for case carts in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred CBSPD or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association credentials.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Preferred: CBSPD Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credential.
• Preferred: Healthcare Sterile Processing Association credential.

Responsibilities

• Operates sterilization equipment and inspects instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functionality.
• Decontaminates soiled instruments and equipment in accordance with IFUs and safety protocols.
• Corrects and assembles instrument sets using current standards, count sheets and tracking systems.
• Maintains inventory levels to ensure items are available for case carts.
• Conducts regular quality assurance program audits of peers to ensure high operational standards.

• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).


• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
