Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor for Arringdon Ambulatory Surgery Center to oversee daily SPD operations. The role ensures timely readiness of instrumentation, adherence to infection control standards, and staff development.

The supervisor will coordinate decontamination, instrument inspection, packaging, and sterilization, while monitoring inventory and implementing cost-saving measures. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred; two years SPD leadership may substitute for degree.
• Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST, HSPA, or CBSPD) is required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise assigned staff to ensure smooth workflow.
• Provide daily direction and set team goals; mentor and coach staff.
• Coordinate decontamination, instrument inspection, packaging, and sterilization processes.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate procurement and stocking.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, safety, and productivity.
