Job summary

UNC Health is seeking an experienced Supervisor to join the Central Processing department in Chapel Hill, NC. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least 3 years of experience with processing or inventorying medical surgical supplies, and a sterile processing certification.

Includes a 3x12 weekend shift schedule and onsite work. The Supervisor will oversee decontamination, sterilization, assembly, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments, ensuring availability for operating

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Sterile processing certification required.
• Three (3) years of experience in processing or inventorying medical surgical supplies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and repair parts; arrange repairs as needed.
• Hire, coach, and evaluate staff; conduct performance appraisals and address disciplinary issues.
• Supervise staff processing, storing, and distributing surgical instruments and supplies to patient care areas.
• Ensure adherence to Infection Control Guidelines, policies, and manufacturer's instructions.
• Plan daily shift schedules based on manpower and service needs; monitor quality and charges.
• Train staff, set customer service standards, and troubleshoot operational issues.
