Job summary

College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy in North Carolina is seeking a supervisor for the Sterile Processing instrument room. You will select, supervise, and evaluate staff to maintain efficient workflow and timely return of instrument trays to the Operating Room.

Responsibilities include coordinating with user departments, assisting with budget planning, and establishing quality improvement indicators. Ongoing in-services and staff development are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Certified Sterile processing Technician required or Certified Surgical Technician with SPD experience preferred, with the understanding that certification must be obtained within eligibility timeframe.
• Prefer Associate Degree in Computer, Business, or Management.
• Previous supervisor or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Selects, supervises and evaluates Sterile Processing instrument room staff.
• Prepares and adjusts employee work schedules according to staff and workload.
• Directs the movement of work flow to expedite returning processed instrument trays to the Operating Room in a timely manner.
• Assists the Assistant Director in the budget planning.
• Coordinates with user departments the timely delivery of needed trays and individual instruments.
• Establishes and maintains Quality Improvement indicators and standards in the department.
• Coordinates department orientation for new employees.
• Ensures staff development and education.
• Assists with providing monthly in-services and ongoing in-services when procedure changes are made.
