St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Supervisor, SPD Operations to oversee sterile processing and coordinate reprocessing across West End Orthopedic Hospital and Sacred Heart Campuses.

You will lead technicians, ensure certification compliance, and partner with Operating Room teams to meet daily scheduling needs, while maintaining accuracy of documentation and instrument tracking. This role emphasizes leadership, regulatory expertise and efficient resource use within a health

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of progressive Sterile Processing leadership experience preferred.
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician through HSPA or CBSPD required.
• Certified Sterile Processing Leader or Manager through HSPA or CBSPD required within 2 years.
• At least two years of responsible SPD hospital experience and progressive work experience in SPD.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in surgical instrumentation and regulatory standards required.
• Knowledge in instrument tracking software.
• Comprehensive knowledge in inventory control, supply chain management, receiving, reprocessing techniques and principles, production management and regulatory agency standards required.

Mansioni

• Communicates and works closely with the Operating Room and other customers, i.e., daily schedule needs, new instruments procedures, new supplies
• Supports Technicians in daily departmental operations and assists in the development of corrective action plans for front line staff and leadership
• Oversees and participates in the orientation of new employees and assists in the supervision and teaching of new and current employees. Evaluates the performance of personnel at assigned campus. Maintains and monitors all related training and education documents including those for certification requirements. Ensures all staff meet certification requirements within required timeframe
• Accurately and consistently ensures documentation guidelines in all phases of the process as required by the department and regulatory agencies. Monitors and supports the maintenance of the Network instrumentation tracking systems and assists in implementation at new facilities
• Demonstrates ability and skills to monitor, audit and enhance the quality of the process and products manufactured or distributed to customers by the department by managing and conducting investigations of contaminated trays, equipment issues and other departmental needs
• Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes, and practices
• Oversees and participates in infection prevention, process improvement, safety and quality control program and attends appropriate committee functions as assigned. Assists in the development of new policies and procedures as well as the revision of current policies and procedures
