Job summary

Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician is mandatory, along with an associate’s degree being preferable. The successful candidate will lead and supervise the SPD team while ensuring compliance with health standards and providing training.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in sterile processing required.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Certification in Sterile Processing Management required within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise SPD employees to ensure production standards.
• Provide guidance and education to SPD employees.
• Maintain departmental compliance logs as per AAMI and AORN.
• Oversee the management of the case cart system.
• Protect self and coworkers by following approved safety policies.

Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to operate sterilization equipment

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Proficient with instrument tracking software

Education

High school diploma or GED

Associate’s degree preferred

Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
