Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Specialist for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Sterile Processing Services. This full-time night-shift position supports the SPD daily operations and serves as a departmental resource, maintaining strong communication with the Sterile Processing Supervisor.

Qualification includes a High School diploma or GED with two years in Sterile Processing and CSPDT certification; certification in Sterile Processing Management is encouraged within three

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with two years’ experience in Sterile Processing.
• CSPDT certification required; certification in Sterile Processing Management encouraged within three years of hire.
• Experience in a sterile processing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Expert in all aspects of the sterile processing cycle and provide guidance to SPD employees.
• Assumes role and responsibilities as Sterile Processing Supervisor when assigned.
• Direct SPD staff to maintain department production requirements.
• Assist with case carts management and communicate issues to the SPD Supervisor.
• Discuss instrument needs with SPD Supervisor, SPD Liaisons, and OR Coordinators with clear communication.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and report issues to the SPD Supervisor.
• Assist with maintenance of departmental compliance logs.
• Support SPD Manager with policy enforcement and department projects.
