Job summary

UofL Health, based in Louisville, KY, seeks a Sterile Processing Supervisor to lead the Sterile Processing Technicians and ensure high-quality instrument processing across the Medical Center complex.

The role requires prior Sterile Processing experience, leadership ability, and current certification requirements, with CHL/CSPM within 12 months of hire. This role supports patient care through meticulous decontamination, sterilization and equipment handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Double certification by a nationally recognized program for Sterile Processing Technicians is required.
• CHL or CSPM certification must be obtained within 12 months from date of hire.
• Minimum three years of experience in Sterile Processing.
• Ability to supervise and coach staff and manage workflow.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Sterile Processing Technicians in daily duties and assignments.
• Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging and sterilization of instruments.
• Oversee case cart assembly and delivery to using areas.
• Monitor sterilization processes using mechanical and biological indicators.
• Provide training and performance coaching to staff as needed.
• Approve vacation requests and manage staff schedules.
