Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated sterile processing technician to decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, store and distribute reusable surgical instrumentation.

You will work within a team to ensure patient safety, maintain equipment and documentation, and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

Eligible candidates may receive a sign‑on bonus up to $5,000 based on experience and education.

• Cleans, decontaminates and sterilizes reusable equipment.
• Prepares surgical trays and assembles equipment per tray listings.
• Operates and troubleshoots sterilizers and related equipment.
• Maintains inventory and orders supplies for procedures.
• Communicates effectively with team and supports cost containment.
