Job summary

Intermountain Health LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Central Processing Technician to ensure surgical instruments are properly decontaminated, assembled, sterilized and tracked. You will use CP software and follow safety protocols to support patient care.

The role includes level-based responsibilities across 1–3 proficiency levels, training to work independently, and a daytime to evening shift structure with benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Must attain Central Processing Certification from HSPA within one year of hire date.
• Level 2-3 requires CP Certification from HSPA.
• High School Diploma is preferred.
• CER or CIS certification through HSPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect basic surgical instruments.
• Assemble, wrap, label, and sterilize instruments.
• Print needs lists and collect items for procedures.
• Issue sterile supplies to hospital areas and regional campuses.
• Perform inventory duties and maintain equipment records.
• Teach and precept new SPD caregivers.
