Job summary

Cook County Government's Sterile Processing & Distribution (SPD) Services is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician. Based at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital, the role supports the Main Operating Rooms through sterilization, packaging, and tray preparation.

Under supervision, you will process instruments, manage inventories, perform HLD, and ensure safe handling of supplies for OR procedures. Shift is 11AM–7PM with rotating weekends; salary reflects experience and union guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current Certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution is required.
• Experience in sterile processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and processes instruments and equipment for OR and Endoscopy.
• Operates and monitors sterilization and high-level disinfection processes.
• Maintains inventory and ensures proper packaging and labeling of trays.
