Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. You will select instruments, ensure sterility, operate processing equipment, and maintain meticulous records for aseptic processing.

This full-time night shift role requires CRCST or CSPDT certification, high school or technical training, and strong attention to detail. We offer sign-on and relocation benefits and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in English, reading and writing clearly.
• Understanding of microbiology, aseptic principles and infection control in sterile processing.
• Knowledge of instrument tracking, packaging, and sterilization processes.

Responsibilities

• Selects appropriate materials and wraps instruments for aseptic technique.
• Ensures sterility indicators and lot stickers are present on all sets.
• Operates sterilization equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
• Reviews sterilizer charts and logs to verify parameters.
• Maintains records in logbooks or computer systems.
• Identifies and segregates reusable items for proper decontamination and sterilization.
• Inspects items for damage and missing components.
• Assembles instrument sets and documents in tracking system.
• Follows recall processes for sterilization failures and notifies supervisors.
• Communicates with departments to resolve issues.
