Responsibilities include maintaining sterility records, assembling instrument trays, and collaborating across departments. A High School Diploma and CRCST or CSPDT certification are required, with technical training preferred and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical or vocational training preferred.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Selects materials and packaging for instrument sets ensuring aseptic wrapping.
• Verifies sterility indicators and lot stickers on all instruments.
• Operates sterilization equipment and selects methods per manufacturer instructions.
• Reviews sterilizer charts to verify parameters before clinical release.
• Maintains sterilization records and logs.
• Identifies and processes reusable items for decontamination and sterilization.
• Inspects items for damage and missing parts; ensures equipment safety.
• Assembles instrument sets and records information in tracking systems.
• Follows recall procedures for sterilization failures and reports results.
• Communicates with hospital departments to resolve issues.
• Participates in training and rotates through decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, and equipment management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
