Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing liaison to strengthen ties with the Operating Room. The role focuses on anticipating needs and bridging gaps to support surgeon satisfaction, case completion, and patient safety through problem-solving and collaboration.

The position requires a GED or higher, a formal SPD/surgical tech program, and extensive SPD/OR experience. A CSPDT certification within one year is preferred.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of an accredited sterile processing or surgical technology course.
• In lieu of completion of the course, 5 years' working experience within SPD or the OR required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room to bridge gaps and anticipate needs.
• Support surgeon satisfaction and case completion through proactive communication and problem-solving.
• Ensure interdepartmental communication supports patient quality care and safety.
