Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill is seeking a Full-Time Sterile Processing Technician to support the Operating Room and Central Sterile Services. You will coordinate daily case flow and ensure instruments are properly prepared for next-day calls and weekend cases.

Two years of sterile processing experience and SPD certification are required. This position is onsite, daytime schedule, 40 hours per week, with a pay range of $19.98 to $28.54 per hour and UNC Health benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years of sterile processing experience.
• SPD Certification required.
• Education not required as long as other position qualifications are met.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities between the OR and Central Sterile Services to facilitate efficient case flow.
• Manage inventory replacement and ensure instrument availability for cases.
• Discuss SPD needs with OR staff and surgeons as needed.
• Verify that required instrumentation has been sterilized and is available for next-day, call or weekend cases.
• Document inventory, equipment requests, instrument sets, and related records.
