Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician, Non-Certified, to clean, decontaminate, assemble and disinfect reusable medical instrumentation. The role supports the OR and Sterile Processing while maintaining supply levels and case cart readiness for daily surgical schedules.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent, with CSPDT/CRCST certification within 2 years of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification within 2 years of hire date (CSPDT/CRCST) is required.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, assembles, and disinfects scope trays and equipment.
• Maintains communication with OR and Sterile Processing regarding requests and delivery.
• Promotes quality patient care and maintains survey readiness.
• Uses the instrument tracking system and maintains logs for repairs and loads.
• Keeps Sterile Processing area clean and well organized.
• Distributes case carts and supplies to the OR and maintains sterility per policy.
