Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC seeks a Department Manager for Sterile Processing. You will supervise daily SPD operations, ensure quality, and maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards, FDA, CDC, AAMI and related agencies.

You will lead budgeting, inventory control, and staff education within a high-growth hospital setting. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 5 years in SPD/OR with 2 years of supervisory experience, and CSPDT or equivalent

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years related experience in SPD or OR.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience in hospital, sterile processing department.
• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (C.S.P.D.T) or other Sterile Processing Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily SPD operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor quality and workflow, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficiency.
• Manage budgets and inventory controls for the department.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure patient care quality.
• Serve as Department Manager-on-Call and participate in shared leadership.
