Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Manager for the Central Sterilization Department within Surgical Services at BID Milton. The role oversees sterilization, instrument distribution, and quality control, with a focus on leadership and staff development across CS and Endoscopy.

Responsibilities include policy development, regulatory compliance (AORN, AAMI, SGNA, CMS, TJC), budgeting, Lean initiatives, and KPI implementation to improve daily operations and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred in Surgical Technology or related field.
• 5 years of experience as Certified Surgical Technologist and/or Certified CS Technician.
• 3–5 years of supervisory/management experience in OR, Endoscopy, or Central Sterilization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Central Sterilization department policies and procedures to support continuous improvement and quality assurance.
• Ensure high-quality cleaning, decontamination, preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments and fiber optic endoscopic equipment.
• Provide leadership, support and development to Central Sterilization staff; participate in recruitment and orientation.
