Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; RN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in the OR and 1 year in a management position.
• Two years experience in sterile processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates SPD activities and ensures staff readiness for JCAHO, AAMI, AORN, and local agencies.
• Prepares and maintains annual department budget; communicates variances to VP of Operations.
• Promotes collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and managers to support new services.
• Supervises orientation and training; conducts yearly feedback and competency reviews.
• Acts as a resource on sterilization, decontamination, and surgical instruments.
• Evaluates space, facilities, equipment, and staffing levels with VP input.
