MU Health Care is seeking a passionate leader to join our Sterile Processing Department as Manager. This on-site role leads a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment focused on patient safety and operational integrity, overseeing decontamination, sterilization and distribution to support surgical services.

The ideal candidate has five years of progressive sterile processing leadership, CRCST certification and strong collaboration with OR staff to ensure timely instrument readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field.
• Five years of progressive leadership experience in sterile processing.
• Prior managerial experience.
• CRCST certification by HSPA.
• HSPA certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Train, develop and evaluate sterile processing staff.
• Manage department budget, equipment and supplies for efficiency.
• Oversee workflows for decontamination, sterilization and distribution.
• Collaborate with OR, surgeons and healthcare professionals for timely instruments.
• Maintain a robust quality assurance program in sterile processing.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and infection control standards.
• Conduct audits, inspections and evaluations to drive improvement.
• Promote infection prevention and proper handling, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization.
• Develop and deliver education programs for staff competency and growth.
• Guide other professionals on handling and care of instruments.
• Collaborate with departments to optimize patient outcomes and efficiency.
• Develop vendor relationships to ensure high-quality instruments and supplies.
• Lead safety culture with proactive risk mitigation and QA.
• Coordinate daily staffing schedules for coverage and continuity.
• Monitor time and attendance for payroll purposes.
