Ascension Evansville is seeking a seasoned leader to head the Sterile Processing department at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, IN. You will guide daily operations, mentor staff, and ensure sterile instrumentation for all procedures.

The role emphasizes quality, inventory optimization, budget oversight, and vendor management, with a focus on continuous improvement aligned to hospital-wide goals.

Qualifications

• Credential(s) in Central Service / sterile processing within 12 months of hire date.
• 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
• High school diploma with 3 years of experience OR an associate/technical degree with 2 years experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the sterile processing team, fostering engagement, accountability, and seamless daily operations across staffing, training, and performance management.
• Enforce quality and sterilization standards, drive audit readiness and regulatory compliance for safe instrumentation.
• Optimize instrument inventory and logistics using data insights to reduce loss and standardize products across the hospital.
• Oversee departmental budgets and vendor contracts, aligning costs and resources with strategic goals.
• Shape continuous process improvements by analyzing metrics and incident trends to enhance safety workflows.
