Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Manager of Sterile Processing to oversee 24/7 operations, ensuring proper handling, sterilization, and distribution of medical instruments and supplies. The role requires strong leadership and policy development to support patient care needs.

The position emphasizes staff supervision, compliance with standards, and continuous improvement in processing workflows, with focus on efficiency and quality in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of occupationally specific education or an associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 7 years’ experience as a sterile processing technician and 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Current certification from HSPA or CBSPD.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, implementation, and maintenance of procedures for processing, storage, and handling of sterile supplies and equipment.
• Develop and implement decontamination and sterilization methods as needed.
• Set department goals and organize structure to support functions efficiently.
• Monitor inventory and establish par levels; initiate purchasing as needed.
• Lead quality monitoring and data collection to ensure compliance and improvements.
