Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Manager, Sterile Processing to oversee the 24/7 operations, ensuring inventory controls, policy conformance, and safe handling of medical supplies, instruments, and sterilization processes.

The role leads staffing, training, and cross-department collaboration with CPD/OR, with a focus on quality improvement, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 7 years’ experience as a sterile processing technician and three years of supervisory experience
• Completion of two years of occupationally specific education or associate’s degree in a related field
• Current certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution)
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or higher education in related field

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, implementation, and maintenance of policies for processing, storage, and handling of medical supplies and equipment.
• Develop and implement updated decontamination and sterilization methods as needed.
• Lead staffing, scheduling, and training for 24/7 department operations.
• Monitor inventory, par levels, and initiate purchases as needed.
• Collaborate with CPD/OR and other departments to track and distribute processed instruments.
• Ensure quality monitoring and data collection across sterile processing activities.
