Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing professional for the High Point Medical Center SPD department. The role entails expertise across the sterile processing cycle and potential advancement to SPD Supervisor, with a 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm) and full-time status, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED with two years in Sterile Processing, CSPDT or equivalent certification, and a management-certification path encouraged within three years.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years' experience in Sterile Processing.
• Certification as CSPDT or other sterile processing certification required.
• Certification in Sterile Processing Management encouraged within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Expert in all aspects of the sterile processing cycle and provide guidance and education to SPD employees.
• Assumes role and responsibilities as Sterile Processing Supervisor when assigned.
• Assist Sterile Processing Supervisor with maintaining department production requirements by leading and directing SPD employees.
• Assist with case carts management and communicate issues to the Sterile Processing Supervisor.
• Use excellent communication skills when discussing instrument needs with SPD Supervisor, SPD Liaisons, and OR Clinical Coordinators.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning optimally and report issues to SPD Supervisor.
• Assist the Sterile Processing Supervisor with maintenance of departmental compliance logs.
• Assist SPD Manager with implementation and enforcement of departmental policies.
• Assist with special projects and interdepartmental committees as assigned.
• Protects self, co-workers and facility by following approved policies to prevent spread of bloodborne and/or airborne diseases.
