Job summary

UF Health Jacksonville is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician Lead to perform decontamination, cleaning, sterilization and reprocessing of patient equipment and surgical instruments. The Lead will mentor staff, support administrator duties, and oversee department operations in the supervisor's absence.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, Central Service Certification within 6 months, and 1–2 years in Sterile Processing; 3–5 years in Level 1 Trauma SPD preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Pass and maintain Central Service Certification (CBSPD or IAHCSMM) within 6 months of hire.
• 1–2 years of Sterile Processing or equivalent OR experience required.
• Preferred: 3–5 years in a Level 1 Trauma Center SPD.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist in supervising and leading the Sterile Processing team when the supervisor is absent.
• Support administrative duties and staff education programs as needed.
