Job summary

UF Health Jacksonville is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician Lead to oversee decontamination, cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies. You will mentor staff, handle reprocessing tasks, and support a fast-paced, high-quality care environment.

The role requires CBSPD/IAHCSMM certification within 6 months of hire, with 1–2 years of SPD experience (3–5 preferred) in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting. Strong teamwork and detailed, compliant work practices are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass and maintain Central Service Certification (CBSPD or IAHCSMM) within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• Preferred: 1–2 years of Sterile Processing or equivalent OR experience; 3–5 years in a Level 1 Trauma Center SPD.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of patient equipment and instruments.
• Support all hospital and clinical areas; work independently with supervision as needed.
• Lead and mentor department staff; perform administrative duties and oversee operations in supervisor's absence.
