Job summary

UF Health Jacksonville seeks a Sterile Processing Specialist to support safe, high-quality patient care within a nationally recognized Level I Trauma Center. You will manage instrument tracking, inventory, and decontamination, coordinating maintenance with contracted services while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Full-time on-site role in Jacksonville, FL, with a schedule of 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate's degree preferred.
Central Service Certification (CBSPD or CRCST) required.
3-5 years of Sterile Processing or equivalent OR experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organization skills.
Good knowledge of surgical instruments.

Responsibilities

Maintain instrument tracking system by adding, changing and deleting data.
Collect and report departmental metrics related to missing/broken instruments and repairs.
Maintain par levels for backup instruments and reorders.
Track instrument utilization and identify needs for purchases.
Submit purchase requisitions related to instruments and repairs.
Coordinate with internal/external entities for instrument purchasing and use implementation.
Coordinate weekly tray and instrument maintenance with contracted services.
Monitor quality of sterile supplies and decontamination per policies and regulations.
