Job summary

Desert Care Network seeks a Lead Technician in Sterile Processing to lead daily operations, maximize staff efficiency, and serve as a resource to staff, departments, vendors and physicians at JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio.

You will oversee instrument sterilization, manage autoclaves, assemble instrument sets, perform quality control, monitor costs, and mentor new staff while maintaining compliance with hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks independently.
• Work cooperatively with a wide variety of team members.
• Sterile Processing Certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technician will facilitate daily operations and maximize staff efficiency, monitor staff productivity and performance and will serve as a role model and resource to staff, other departments, vendors and physicians.
• Maintains instrumentation by proper cleaning, care utilization, and sterilization as required. Ensures timely assembly and wrapping of instrument sets for sterilization.
• Performs quality control checks on instruments and equipment and contributes to cost containment.
• Assists with procurement and maintenance recommendations for equipment and adherence to sterilization protocols.
