Job summary

Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA seeks a Sterile Processing Supervisor to lead the SPD and OR support teams, ensuring instruments are cleaned, assembled, sterilized, and delivered to the OR each day.

You will monitor quality, mentor staff, manage inventories, and coordinate with Perioperative Services to meet patient care timelines, while upholding CBSPD, AAMI and IAHCSMM standards. Strong supervisory and communication skills are essential, and CRCST/CHL/CIS/CST credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of relevant experience in a similarly complex surgical services environment.
• Thorough knowledge of sterilization techniques.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Must have CRCST and CHL or CIS / CST (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician, Certified Health Leader, Certified Instrument Specialist, Certified Surgical Technologist).
• Must possess excellent analytical and persuasion skills.
• Knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to identify problems then determine and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to implement process improvement strategies and quality initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates staff in the sterilization and distribution functions of the sterile processing department.
• Staffing, payroll, and first-level conflict resolution.
• Coordinate with Perioperative Services and HR on personnel issues.
• Advise and mentor SPD staff; monitor quality and adherence to standards.
