Job summary

Michigan Medicine's Troy Center is seeking a CSPD Manager to oversee decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of instruments for Surgical Services and clinics. You will plan, organize and direct operations in line with federal, state and local standards and Michigan Medicine guidelines.

You will partner with Ambulatory Care and OR leaders to manage re-processing, drive performance improvements and lead staff development while maintaining instrument availability and patient care quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years in Central Sterile Processing and/or Surgical Services.
• At least three years in supervisory/management roles.
• Knowledge of aseptic practices, instrumentation, sterilization, and decontamination.
• Certification through CBSPD or HSPA.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other software.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with accreditation readiness (Joint Commission, CMS, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead CSPD operations, ensuring decontamination, sterilization and distribution of instrumentation.
• Oversee staffing, onboarding, performance planning and development.
• Ensure policies and procedures are current and practiced consistently.
• Develop and monitor process improvements and quality indicators.
• Prepare monthly statistics and reports for committees.
• Collaborate with OR leadership and Ambulatory Care to ensure instrument availability.
