Job summary

The University of Michigan's Central Sterile Reprocessing Department (CSPD) Manager oversees administrative and operational goals for CSPD at the Troy Center for Specialty Care. This role plans, organizes, and directs sterile processing workflows in accordance with regulatory standards to ensure timely availability of instrumentation for Surgical Services.

Reporting to senior CSPD leadership, the position emphasizes leadership development, process improvement, compliance with Joint Commission

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field or equivalent experience.
• Certification through an accredited Sterile Processing Organization such as CBSPD or HSPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer-based software applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead CSPD operations and staffing, ensuring timely processing, sterilization and distribution of instrumentation.
• Develop and oversee staff education, onboarding, and performance development.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements; monitor quality indicators.
