Job summary

Oakland Community College is seeking an instructor for the Sterile Processing Technician Training Program. The instructor will plan, implement, and evaluate students across didactic, online learning, and skills lab arenas, providing quality education within the college's philosophy and policies.

The role includes developing curriculum, teaching in classroom/lab/online settings, using educational technology, maintaining student records, collaborating with staff, and handling duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Academic preparation and experience in delivering innovative, evidence-based instruction in Sterile Processing and other health professions.
• Ability to effectively use instructional technology and digital learning platforms.
• Ability to engage collaboratively and professionally with colleagues and students to ensure the successful achievement of student learning outcomes.
• Experience in actively engaging students to think critically while participating in the learning process.
• Demonstrates leadership in academic and clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in the development of new curriculum, instructional materials, and evaluation tools; reviews and updates course outlines, textbooks, and syllabus for courses.
• Teaches courses and maintains written instructional standards; facilitates instruction using alternative delivery methods as needed; participates in the assessment of student learning outcomes.
• Utilizes educational technology and digital learning platforms to facilitate instruction and student success.
• Provides instruction in a classroom, lab, and online setting.
• Applies and maintains standards of quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures; implements changes and integrates knowledge of professional training to continuously improve program quality.
• Maintains accurate student progress records and monitors academic performance.
• Works collaboratively with students, colleagues, and staff members to integrate instructional activities and materials.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.
• Ability to work additional hours, as needed.
