Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Services Technician at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital to promote staff growth, coordinate orientation, and supervise competency-based education within SPD.

The ideal candidate has CSPDT/CST preferred, 3+ years in a surgical environment, teaching or supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. This 40-hour weekly role requires ability to lift 30-40 lbs and may require on-call availability.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: CSPDT or CST preferred; 3+ years in a surgical environment; 1+ year teaching or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong computer literacy including MS Office; good communication skills; current state licensure as applicable.
• Knowledge of SPD workflows, regulatory requirements, and staff orientation best practices.

Responsibilities

• Promote environment conducive to staff growth and autonomy.
• Coordinate, implement, monitor, and evaluate SPD orientation program.
• Provide competency-based education for associates and foster professional development.
• Orient new SPD associates to department policies, functions, and roles; monitor engagement and performance.
• Monitor unit compliance with regulatory requirements and support process improvements.
