Job summary

Advocate Health in North Carolina is seeking a Sterile Processing Associate to lead the SPD orientation program and provide competency-based education to staff. You will mentor personnel, promote growth, and orient new associates to SPD functions and department policies.

Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting patient care delivery, and collaborating on process improvements with leadership. Prior SPD experience and applicable CSPDT/CST credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• CSPDT or CST certification preferred and current licensure where applicable.
• 3+ years in a surgical environment with instrument processing responsibilities.
• Experience teaching or supervising staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Defines and coordinates SPD orientation programs for new staff.
• Provides competency-based education and ongoing staff development.
• Promotes professional growth and preceptor orientation within SPD.
• Orientates staff to department policies and SPD functions (decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization).
• Supports regulatory compliance and acts as a clinical resource for staff.
• Collabs with manager on process improvements and patient care delivery.
