Job summary

City of Hope seeks a capable leader to educate and assess the Sterile Processing Program across our enterprise. The role ensures compliance with IAHCSMM, CBSPD, AORN, AAMI, and Joint Commission standards while coordinating education for staff involved in instrument processing, disinfection, sterilization and storage of medical devices.

The successful candidate will drive competency, lead department-wide improvement initiatives, and travel to community practice sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent experience in sterile processing or perioperative environments.
• CRCST certification mandatory.
• CER certification within 12 months of hire.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide recommendations to ensure regulatory standards for the department.
• Plan, develop and conduct training for onboarding and ongoing staff development in sterilization processes.
• Assess learning needs and organize development programs.
• Provide annual staff education and maintain competency records.
• Lead performance improvement activities and ensure participation.
• Maintain up-to-date standards of care, policies, and protocols with current evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with Quality, Risk and Infection Control to implement new protocols.
• Travel to community practice locations as required.
