Job summary

City of Hope is recruiting for a Sterile Processing Education and Quality Assessment lead to ensure regulatory compliance and ongoing staff development across the enterprise.

The role oversees education programs for transport, cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and storage of instruments and devices, with travel to community practice sites as needed. Requires CRCST and CER certifications with leadership experience.

Qualifications

• 5 years of recent experience in sterile processing or perioperative environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 additional years of experience may substitute for minimum education.
• Demonstrated formal leadership or education role in sterile processing operations.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, infection control, and body mechanics.
• Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and conduct training for onboarding and ongoing staff development in sterile processing.
• Asses learning needs and organize development programs for staff.
• Provide annual staff education and maintain competency records.
• Develop and implement departmental performance improvement activities.
• Maintain current standards of care and protocols reflecting evidence-based practice.
• Travel to community practice sites as required.
