Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center seeks a Coordinator for the Central Sterile Processing Department. The role enforces instrument processing standards, sterilization protocols, and restocking for remote locations, under the CSPD Manager’s direction.

You will model professional communication, support infection control, monitor sterilization, and assist with daily operations, budgeting, and staff development in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CSPD or CRCST certification.
• 5 years of relevant experience in hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the CSPD Manager, establishes and enforces standards of instrument processing, sterilization, and restocking.
• Role models professional communication with staff and other departments.
• Ensures infection control, sterilizer monitoring, packaging and processing policies are followed.
• Assists the Manager with quality/improvement activities to meet regulatory standards.
• Assists with daily CSPD operations and staff work assignments.
• Manages labor and supply components of the department budget.
• Maintains CSIQ Instrument Tracking System.
• Participates in department organization and annual performance evaluations.
• Supports staff evaluations and implements process improvements.
• Positions in the absence of the CSPD Manager and develops educational calendars.
• Provides education and training to CSPD staff.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
