Job summary

BARNS Barnesville Hospital seeks a skilled Sterile Processing professional to lead instrument and tray support for daily operating room and procedural schedules. Coordinate with Perioperative Services/HVI to ensure timely availability of instruments, implants, and supplies across case carts.

The role includes process improvement, budget planning support, and ongoing quality monitoring to drive efficiency and patient care excellence within a high‑stress environment.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in a sterile processing environment.
• Graduate of a surgical tech and/or certified central service tech program and must obtain one of the above certifications within one year of hire.
• Certification within one year of hire as applicable.
• Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develops systems with Perioperative Services/HVI and SPD to ensure daily operating room needs are met.
• Engineers logistics of case carts, equipment, and supplies to be ready at point of use.
• Acts as a liaison between SPD and Perioperative Services/HVI to assure smooth instrumentation and case cart support.
• Anticipates surgical team needs and participates in daily rounds with Perioperative/HVI charge nurses.
• Coordinates acquisition of needed items with hospitals/vendors during shortages or outages.
• Implements quality monitoring, audits and training inputs for practice improvements.
