Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Central Service Technician to maintain standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.

You will perform sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment, collaborate with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment, and help maintain a smooth workflow while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED.
• Graduates of Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech programs preferred.
• Experience as Central Service or Surgical Tech can substitute certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous workflow, delivering superior customer service.

Education

H.S. Diploma or GED

Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program graduate

Experience in lieu of certification as Central Service or Surgical Tech
