Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Central Service Technician to maintain standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments, and to ensure timely supply of sterile sets.

The role collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment in an accurate and timely manner, while supporting workflow and delivering superior customer service through precise processing.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and completion of a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program.
• Alternative: in lieu of certification, prior experience as Central Service Tech or Surgical Tech is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standards for set assemblies, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing instruments.
• Perform sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment.
• Support continuous workflow and deliver superior customer service.
