Job summary

Penn Medicine is a leading academic medical center seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Home Infusion Therapy team. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, you will prepare sterile compounds and ensure compliance with USP 797/800 while maintaining cleanroom standards.

This role requires PA certification, a high school diploma, and 1+ year of sterile compounding experience; occasional weekend/holiday rotations may be required to support operations.

Qualifications

• PTCB certified pharmacy technician.
• PA State Pharmacy Technician License required by 6/28/2026 for current employees; new hires must obtain.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of sterile compounding experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile compounds, including hazardous medications, following USP 797/800 guidelines.
• Maintain aseptic work areas and stock in the cleanroom.
• Collaborate with management on performance improvement projects.
• Provide timely communications to Pharmacists for checking, delivery, and activities.
• Obtain and review labels to determine required products and delivery time.
• Keep inventory updated and restock medications as needed.
