Job summary

Actalent is seeking a licensed pharmacist for a contract role in Lake Mary, FL. The position involves sterile compounding oversight, SOP compliance, and collaboration with pharmacists, technicians, and quality teams to ensure patient safety and product quality.

You will train staff, manage compounding processes per USP standards, process prescriptions with accuracy, and support production planning in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Excellent communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensed in the applicable state.
• Experience in sterile and non-sterile compounding.
• Proficient with USP 797, 795 and 800.
• Strong leadership and customer service.
• Experience with pharmacy software and inventory systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Fully understand and apply SOPs related to sterile compounding.
• Train and monitor staff to ensure high performance and procedure adherence.
• Apply compounding techniques per USP standards to ensure quality and safety.
• Ensure QA/QC tasks are completed and documented in the environmental platform.
• Process prescriptions with accuracy and timeliness.
• Consult patients and providers about medications and interactions.
• Quarantine expired products and manage returns per state laws.
• Assist in weekly sterile drug production scheduling to prioritize products.
• Follow SOPs for compounding, labeling with BUD, and CS reconciliation where applicable.
• Manage inventory to prevent interruptions in staffing and supplies.
• Support cycle counts and supply chain activities related to medications.
• Contribute to production planning and workflow optimization.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and providers.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient data and records.
• Ensure compounded preparations meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and quality teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform other duties to support operations and patient care.
• Report to leadership on staff performance and quality metrics.
