THOM Thomas Hospitals in South Charleston, WV, is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support patient care on the ICU Step Down unit. You will observe patient conditions, assist with ADLs, record vitals, and contribute to a clean, safe environment under RN supervision.

Requires a High School Diploma and Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire. Prior patient care experience is preferred; 36 hours per week with 12-hour PM shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Responsabilités

• Observes and reports all patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records the vital signs, assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures.
• Records oral intake and outputs (temperature, blood pressure and other monitoring).
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to help prevent and/or control infections and to provide for safety of patients, visitors and employees.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure.
• Communicates with RN regarding nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or verbalized lack of understanding of diet changes.
• Assists department with administrative tasks to support the department operations.
• Answers patient call bell and relays message to appropriate personnel
